The new CEO in interview

Since December 2017, Vincent Bossert is the new CEO of Koch-Chemie GmbH. With over 30 years of experience in the chemical industry, resolve, and a 1973 Dodge Charger, he’s well prepared for this responsibility.

Vincent, can you roughly describe your career path?

I finished my business management training in the chemical industry over 30 years ago. Since then, I have worked in various segments of the industry, supplying chemicals including coatings, paper and detergents, as well as in various departments such as sales, marketing, controlling, and supply chain. In addition to this, I have been active in a number of roles spanning various countries throughout Europe and Asia.

Over the years, I have gotten to know the chemical industry from many different perspectives and have moved closer and closer in the value chain towards the end consumer. After all, that is exactly what it’s all about — collecting experience and focusing on the end customer. This has brought me the most satisfaction through my years of professional development.

What attracted you to Koch-Chemie?

There are several things. First and foremost, the great team of employees, together with the company’s successful development over the years. It has a very appealing and authentic image. Overall, this company has a legacy that deserves to be continued and developed. Koch-Chemie already has everything it needs to independently continue its success story.

What is your impression of Koch-Chemie so far?

What immediately stands out is the enormously positive attitude within the team. You can really sense a willingness to develop further. The team is not just focused on improving personally; they also strive to make an active contribution to the success of their colleagues and the company as a whole. There is also a high level of customer service and a desire to develop and promote powerful products without compromise. This has genuinely impressed me.

What goals do you hope to achieve together with the Koch-Chemie team?

We are continuing to strengthen our structures. In particular, research and development will be further expanded in order to better respond to customer requests. We have also hired new employees in all departments, and in the near future we will invest another several million euros into the Unna site in order to secure our strong growth as a company. The legacy of Koch-Chemie is evolving: “Evolution, not Revolution”.

What are your passions outside of work? How do you spend your free time?

I am happily married with two daughters, so I enjoy spending my time with my family. Naturally, I also have a couple of toys: a BMW Rockster and, more recently, a 1973 Dodge Charger. The Charger is a lot of fun. I also always enjoy some good food with the right wine.
